John 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

When Jesus hung on that cross and spoke His last word, “ it is finished”.

He did not say I am finished. I am defeated.

No, no!!

What he said was It is finished, meaning it is completed.

If you have any doubt look at what He said in John 17:4.

John 17:4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou givest me to do.

Jesus had completed everything that he was sent to the earth by His Father in heaven to do. He had fulfilled every prophecy spoken of Him by the prophets of old about His first coming, and now He sits at the right hand of the Father waiting to return for the second time.

We were all created for a purpose and Jesus did not leave us powerless to do that purpose when he left this earth!

Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Luke 10:19 Behold I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Luke 14:2 Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

He gave unto us power to over come our enemy and nothing shall hurt us.

And greater works shall we do because He has gone unto our Father!

We are suppose to be bold, put on our armor every day, and stand up to our enemy when he attacks and fight back with our sword. We have a work to do and we were not left powerless to do it on our own, He is with us.
